Q1 Highlights: Mental Health Awareness Through Speaking and Media

As we enter the second quarter of the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the amazing experiences I had in the first. Some of which have resources which you may benefit from.

From speaking at Small Business Sunday hosted by Theo Paphitis, to being featured on WGN News in the US and appearing on The Doctor’s Kitchen Podcast, it’s been a busy and fulfilling few months.

At the Small Business Sunday event, I had the privilege of delivering a speech on the importance of mental health and well-being. It was a great opportunity to share my insights with a community of entrepreneurs and small business owners. And also, to offer advice on how to stay mentally resilient amongst the challenges that come with running a business.

Appearing on WGN News was another incredible experience. Here, I was able to share my message of practising better mental health and well-being on a global platform and reach a wider audience. The segment focused on the benefits of mindfulness and meditation, and how these practices can help you cope with stress and anxiety. Spreading the message of mental health awareness is essential in helping others to feel better by prioritising their mental well-being!

Finally, I had the pleasure of appearing on The Doctor’s Kitchen Podcast at the end of March. In this episode, I discussed the importance of self-care and setting healthy boundaries. Many people experience anxiety and stress because they don’t prioritise their own needs and end up overextending themselves. I suggest setting boundaries by learning to say “no” when necessary and communicating your needs to others. By prioritising your well-being, you can reduce anxiety and improve your overall quality of life. Remember, it’s okay to put yourself first and take care of your own needs. Overall, it’s been an amazing first quarter of the year, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come!

These experiences have reminded me of the power the media has in spreading important messages and the need for greater awareness and understanding of mental health and well-being in our society.

Take care,
